Prescription verification
How we check your contact lens prescription before your order ships, as US law requires.
Every contact lens order shipping to the United States, including plano (0.00) colored lenses, needs a valid contact lens prescription. We verify it before your order ships.
How it works
- Choose your lenses and the power for each eye (or No power).
- At checkout, pick the easiest way for you: upload a photo or PDF right after you order, email it later by replying to your order confirmation, or give us your eye doctor’s name and phone number and we contact them for you.
- We verify the prescription: either from the copy you send or by contacting your eye doctor.
- Your order ships once verification is complete. We email you if anything needs attention.
What a valid prescription includes
- Your name and the date of the exam.
- The power for each eye, plus base curve and diameter if listed.
- Your eye doctor’s name and contact details.
- An expiry date. In the US a contact lens prescription is normally valid for at least one year.
Good to know
- A glasses prescription is not a contact lens prescription.
- If your prescription has expired, book an exam with your eye doctor first.
- If the prescription cannot be verified, the order is not shipped and you are contacted about a refund.
