How to choose colored contacts for dark brown eyes
Which shades show up, and how to keep the look natural.
On dark brown eyes, choose a lens with an opaque, well-defined pattern. Warm shades such as hazel, honey and light brown give a natural lift; gray, green and blue give a stronger, more visible change.
1. Decide how much change you want
- Subtle: hazel, honey and light brown shades sit close to your natural color. Try Hazel & Honey.
- Noticeable: soft grays and caramel tones read clearly on dark eyes. See Gray.
- Bold: green, blue and turquoise make the biggest change. See Green and Blue.
2. Look at the pattern, not just the color
A pattern with fine lines and a darker outer edge (a limbal ring) adds depth and definition. A pattern without a ring blends more softly. Natural vs bold explained.
3. Check the shade on a dark eye
Every product page shows the shade on a real eye and on a dark-eye illustration, so you can compare before you buy.
